Insightful (formerly the StatSci division of MathSoft) hired Designer Software to port the S-PLUS (predecessor to R) statistical analysis package from UNIX to Windows. We designed and implemented new GUI features such as the 2D+ “Brush & Spin” live visualization of multivariate scatterplot data. We also presented the benefits of usability testing based on a pilot study of the UI for managing user-definable color palettes.
